RoboticApp Releases New Versions of its Apps for Robots

RoboChat 2.0, RoboControl 3.0, iRoboControl 3.0, RoboFriend 1.0, RoboServer 3.0 and RoboWebCam 2.0 were released in April 2013. RoboControl 3.0 and RoboFriend 1.0 were used to win 3rd place at the Global Cloud Robotics Hackathon 2013. RoboticApp Wins 3rd Place at the Global Cloud Robotics Hackathon 2013

RoboticApp won 3rd place out of 29 participating teams at the Global Cloud Robotics Hackathon 2013. The Hackathon took place during the National Robotics Week from April 6 to April 14, 2013. To know more about the Cloud Robotics Hackathon.

Robot apps for Roomba with RooTooth and for Mindstorms NXT

Our robot apps run on the Roomba, the Create and the Mindstorms NXT robotic platforms. They use technologies like the RooTooth, the iPod touch and Skype.

Our robot apps for Roomba, and Create, use the RooTooth to communicate with your Roomba wirelessly via Bluetooth from a server computer running Windows with Internet connectivity. The Roomba apps send commands to the server computer via the Internet that are redirected to your robot via the RooTooth. Your Roomba sends sensor data via the RooTooth back to the server computer and then to the Roomba apps via the Internet.

Our robot apps for Mindstorms NXT use the embedded capabilities of the Mindstorms NXT to communicate with your Mindstorms NXT wirelessly via Bluetooth from a server computer running Windows with Internet connectivity. The Mindstorms NXT apps send commands to the server computer via the Internet that are redirected to your robot via Bluetooth. Your Mindstorms NXT sends sensor data via Bluetooth back to the server computer and then to the Mindstorms NXT apps via the Internet.

An iPod touch can be mounted on your robot to provide remote monitoring using RoboWebCam and telepresence using Skype. The robot apps are available as Web apps or apps for iOS devices. The robot Web apps run on any browser, any device or computer, and any platform or operating system. The robot apps for iOS devices run on the iPhone, the iPod touch, the iPad and the iPad mini.

1. "A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm."

2. "A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law."

3. "A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws."
